Optical transverse excitation in quaterthiophene crystals by ultraviolet-visible internal and attenuated total reflection.

摘要: We report internal and attenuated total reflection of light at the interface between glass a quaterthiophene crystal in spectral region electronic transitions. The bands corresponding to absorption a(u) b(u) Frenkel exciton states are detected for different polarization incident light. In particular, wave-normal vector being almost perpendicular transition dipole moment allows its transverse component be accessed, whose excitation conventional external or transmission spectroscopies is forbidden.
