Are incubators and science parks effective for research spin-offs? Evidence from Italy

摘要: In recent years there has been an increasing focus on the research spin-off phenomenon. Spin-off firms are recognised as important opportunity for universities. Notwithstanding interest this field at European and US levels, few analyses have focused Italy. The goal of paper is to contribute literature spin-offs by providing original empirical evidence from Italian research. More specifically, attention relationship between science parks/incubators regional level. results a linear regression model highlight that higher number host structures spin-offs. This analysis completed with questionnaire: 65 on-park 90 off-park respondents provided similar answers conclusive differences. debate about effectiveness incubators parks remains open in Italy (and elsewhere).
