The Relationship Between Parental Representations of Caregiving and Behavioral Problems Among Italian Adolescents

摘要: The present study examines the unique contributions of caregiving system to predicting adolescent behavioral problems as well examining interplay between systems in both parents. Two hundred and sixty six, adolescents (147 females 119 males; aged 11–19) their parents completed measure socio-emotional representations, respectively. Maternal mental representation caregiving-self was a significant predictor for internalizing externalizing problems. inclusion paternal representations caregiving-other model increased variance only Our findings confirm that based on inability perceive others deserving help, negative self-perception abilities skills give help predict adolescents. implications future theoretical empirical development research this field are discussed.
