摘要: In order to maintain the high levels of biodiversity and ecological functions tropical forest landscapes in South East Asia, production forests need be managed a more sustainable way. Numerous initiatives already exist form codes practice, criteria indicators, certification schemes countries but date such guidelines standards have been vague lacked quantitative targets. Reducedimpact logging (RIL) is concept related techniques practices that aim achieve environmentally sound timber harvesting; has gained broad acceptance tropics. As yet, however, RIL focused mainly on environmental aspects as soil water, taken flora fauna into account minor degree only. this report, detailed recommendations are made help managers take conservation dipterocarp logged-over primary natural where mechanised practised. The based those CIFOR publication Life after Logging, further developed through three workshops held under joint project between Swedish University Agricultural Sciences, Forest Science Institute Vietnam. linked different phases forestry cycle: i.e. planning (inventories sensitive species habitats, delimitation set-aside areas riparian buffers), infrastructure (logging camps, roads, bridges, skid-trails, landings), (retention critical structures, micro-habitats, key resources, felling techniques, harvesting intensity, site-adaption), post-logging (understorey slashing, rehabilitation log-landings stream crossings, re-forestation), monitoring (biodiversity inventories). Issues hunting, fire, invasive species, domestic animals, traffic, for local people also covered.
