Economic evaluations addressing diagnosis and treatment strategies for neglected tropical diseases: an overview.

摘要: Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are those affecting vulnerable people and causing additional social economic burden. The aim of this study was to carry out a general overview the health assessments involving diagnosis treatment six NTDs: cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL), Chagas disease, cysticercosis, filariasis, schistosomiasis visceral (VL). literature search based on two main medical databases (Medline SciELO) identified 46 studies. Twenty-six studies (57%) addressed therapeutic strategies, while other 20 (43%) assessed diagnostic or both approaches. were published between 1994 2021, 57% them (26/46) carried in four countries. Cost-effectiveness analyses conducted 59% (27/46) Economic NTDs have timidly increased recent years.
