摘要: Nosocomial pneumonia is the second most common nosocomial infection after urinary tract and has highest fatality rate among infections. 41,87 Although may occur in patients throughout hospital, at greatest risk for hospital-acquired are those who managed with endotracheal intubation mechanical ventilatory support usually hospitalized an intensive care unit (ICU). Thus, today pneumonias ICVs associated ventilation referred to as ventilator-associated (VAP). In this article pathogenesis, diagnosis, etiology, epidemiology, prevention of VAP reviewed.
