摘要: Abstract The hippocampus is a key structure in episodic memory retrieval, the fascinating capacity of brain to reactivate events our own past mind's eye. In trying understand contribution memory, it useful investigate hippocampal correlates at level activity single neurons, using animal models. presence animals is, however, controversial. Here, an approach used by others before us, we have decomposed into what believe are its features: (1) contains information on what, when, and where memory; (2) acquired during particular experience; (3) retrieval involves mental time travel. We discuss whether for these components found units rodent hippocampus. First, describe neuronal spatial, temporal, behavioural (what) context which occurred. follow with overview evidence one-trial unit activity. Finally, speculate that hippocampus, given reactivation patterns activity, might potential generate
