摘要: Skull length is the measurement most commonly used as a standard against which other aspects of cranial morphology are compared to derive an index relative size or proportions. However, skull composed two different functional components, facial and cerebral skull, vary independently have scaling relationships with body size. An analysis carnivore shape measurements standardized basicranium produced very results than using standard. For example, expressions were reduced by 13% in mustelids increased 20% canids, reflecting removal jaw (short long canids) from comparative (basicranial axis length). Cranial scale higher allometric exponents basicranial length.
