Emotional Expressiveness, Extraversion, and Neuroticism: A Meta-Analysis

摘要: This meta-analytic investigation explored the relationship between measures of emotional expressiveness and core personality constructs Extraversion Neuroticism. Measures included both behavioral assessments encoding/expressiveness self-report instruments. There were 34 effect sizes for Extraversion-expressiveness 26 Neuroticism-expressiveness. The results revealed that yield Neuroticism effects are not same as provided by expressiveness/encoding. However, there was a significant overall positive expressiveness, regardless type measure. Overall, significantly negatively related to but unrelated measures. These suggest extraversion linked, interchangeable. Nonverbal communication researchers should pay attention scope instrument when selecting using expressiveness.
