摘要: The increasing use of infrared dichroism measurements in studying the molecular structure fibrous proteins necessitates a critical examination its interpretation. Relationships between transition moment direction and dichroic ratio are derived for perfectly imperfectly oriented fibers, effects reflection losses, form dichroism, convergence considered. Uncertainties assignment directions associated with principal vibrations —CO·NH— group discussed.
