Acceptability of methadyl acetate (LAAM) as compared with methadone in a treatment program for heroin addicts

摘要: Abstract Heroin addicts who had been maintained for at least three months on LAAM (levo-alpha-acetylmethadol, methadyl acetate) and methadone were asked to compare the two drugs a number of criteria. The responses highly selective, indicating that desire please investigators was not an important factor. Overwhelmingly, majority patients reported provided better heroin “blockade”, it more effective in reducing craving, actual use less than methadone. In other respects, such as sexual performance sleep, appetite, most perceived no difference between drugs. respect preferred by majority, although viewed favorably some criteria patients. These findings indicate will be acceptable maintenance drug.
