摘要: Abstract It has been shown previously how a transformation of coordinates applied to the primitive equations with geostrophic momentum approximation produces quite simple semi-geostrophic equations. Here connection quasi-geostrophic theory and role ageostrophic motions are clarified. The cross-frontal circulation equation Eliassen (1962) is be applicable in modified form three dimensions, “ω equation” obtained. A similar analytical development possible isentropic coordinates. As an example diagnostic use derived, study formation upper air front numerical model given.
