摘要: The overarching aim of this study is to improve our limited understanding the impacts information and communication technology (ICT) on transport mobility make first steps towards development elements for adequate policy strategies contribute a reduction overall demand. More specifically, ICTRANS aims address following objectives: (1) Improve impact chains loops affecting demand transport, which in turn are driven by new opportunities ICT applications conjunction with emerging trends trend breaks social organisational practices; (2) Develop formulate set scenarios "e-society" frame exploration possible future that may have mobility; (3) Assess suitable indicators investigate substitution or rebound effects, modifications travel behaviour, case stimulation additional demand; (4) Analyze suggest options robust adaptive policies would allow influence paths develop sustainable direction prevent major negative side effects; (5) Identify areas where research work needed. project focuses key application ICTs expected consequences transport. These include retailing distribution, e-commerce can help optimize operations at firm level location decisions distribution centres.
