摘要: High fructose consumption has been associated to deleterious metabolic conditions. In the kidney, high causes renal alterations that contribute development of chronic kidney disease. Evidence suggests dietary flavonoids have ability prevent/attenuate risk factors diseases. This work investigated capacity (-)-epicatechin prevent damage induced by in rats. Male Sprague Dawley rats received 10% (w/v) drinking water for 8 weeks, with or without supplementation (20mg/kg body weight/d) rat chow diet. Results showed that, presence mild proteinuria, cortex from fructose-fed exhibited fibrosis and decreases nephrin, synaptopodin, WT1, all indicators podocyte function association with: (i) increased markers oxidative stress; (ii) modifications determinants NO bioavailability, i.e., synthase (NOS) activity expression; (iii) a pro-inflammatory condition, manifested as NF-κB activation, expression TNFα, iNOS, IL-6. Dietary prevented ameliorated adverse effects consumption. These results suggest ingestion would benefit when occur inflammation
