摘要: Management actions concerning free-roaming horses attract controversy in many areas. In the Chilcotin region of British Columbia, Canada, social and cultural values influence debates about management perceptions their ecological impacts. A dearth current, empirical research on role impacts local ecosystems results decisions being informed largely by studies from other ecoregions locations, which may not accurately represent ecological, social, cultural, economic influences. We initiated first socio-ecological study horse sub-populations, grazing habitat, past approaches affecting current conditions ?Elegesi Qayuse Wild Horse Preserve Xeni Gwet’in (Tsilhqot’in) First Nations’ territory. This exploratory used mixed methods including a review literature unpublished data, assessment vegetation core exploration knowledge perceptions. Plant community composition abundance habitat are consistent with structurally sound ecosystem. Socio-cultural factors important for managers to consider effective decision-making populations.
