摘要: Sustainability should encompass responsibility for unintended environmental consequences of modern developments. This study examined some pervasive challenges to sustainability by design electronic products, namely: (i) product and consumption redundancies; embodied social impacts occurring distant in time space from the point consumption; (iii) production dynamics. analysis identified essential developments certain areas that can assist practice preventing consequences. These were: (1) complementing life cycle assessment studies with analyses consequences; (2) exploiting vital role fostering a circular economy. Indicators provide information about (a) increasing spatial decreasing temporal separation production, waste management, (b) constraints raw materials supply (c) marginal changes money spent be available designers consumers. Furthermore, technology, namely computer-aided (CAD) tools, refined designing effective circularity end-of-waste limiting hibernation resources use phase.
