摘要: The design features of a PET system designed for animal studies are described and its performance evaluated. employs two-dimensional modular detector array consisting bismuth germanate elements that 3.5 mm (transaxially) by 6.25 (axially) 30 (deep). These arrays optically coupled to pair dual-photo-multiplier tubes (PMT). ring is 64 cm in diameter with field view (FOV) 40 5.4 axially, acquiring 15 slices at 3.4 spacing. include: (1) digitization PMT signals from each block improved position energy discrimination coincident events (2) dual-window simultaneous but separate acquisition photopeak scatter data. Intrinsic resolution averages the center FOV, while reconstructed (ramp filter) ranges 3.8 FOV 4.6 an 8 radius. Axial 4.4 4.9 sensitivity 4.2 6.1 kcps/microCi/cc cross planes enhanced direct planes, respectively. Randoms fraction high due reduced interplane shielding, giving peak true count rate 103 kcps 10 cylinder. Scatter as trues 16% cylinder lower threshold 350 keV. All parameters sensitive threshold. Spatial improves 11% transaxially 9% drops 10%, overall 48% when value increased keV 450
