摘要: Ceruloplasmin from the turtle Caretta caretta was isolated to purity by using single-step procedure recently developed us purify sheep and chicken ceruloplasmin. It has a Mr of ca. 145,000 total copper content 5.1 +/- 0.2 atoms per molecule, 50% which are detectable EPR. The spectroscopic features include an absorption maximum at 603 nm in electronic spectrum absence any resonance attributable Type 2 EPR spectrum. Turtle ceruloplasmin found be unusually resistant aging proteolysis, when compared ceruloplasmins other species. p-Phenyl-endiamine oxidase activity measurements revealed low catalytic efficiency, while kinetic parameters Fe(II) oxidation were consistent with those reported for species
