Comparison between finite volume and lattice-Boltzmann method simulations of gas-fluidised beds: bed expansion and particle–fluid interaction force

摘要: Lattice-Boltzmann method (LBM) simulations of a gas-fluidised bed have been performed. In contrast to the current state-of-the-art coupled computational fluid dynamics–discrete element (CFD–DEM) simulations, LBM does not require closure relationship for particle–fluid interaction force. Instead, can be calculated directly from detailed flow profile around particles. Here comparison is performed between CFD–DEM and small fluidised bed. Simulations are two different values superficial gas velocity it found that predicts larger expansion both flowrates. Furthermore force obtained compared which would predicted by model under same conditions. On average significantly smaller than LBM.
