摘要: A new histochemical technique is described that permits differentiation of resident from recruited macrophages by staining paraffin sections tissues rats and mice. Resident are identified their ability to phagocytose retain intravenously injected colloidal Prussian blue. New emigrate into tissue phagocytosis a second colloid, iron dextran. Paraffin formalin-fixed sequentially stained for the presence two colloids with different chromogens, endogenous pseudo-peroxidase activity blue used catalyze polymerization diaminobenzidine after conversion dextran blue, colloid tetramethylbenzidine. The results in brown while newly stain studies have shown stable vivo neither loses its catalytic nor undergoes extensive redistribution. They also show can be measure Kupffer cell recruitment stimulated complete Freund’s adjuvant tumor-associated macrophage subcutaneous spontaneous liver metastases
