摘要: IN THE LAST 10 YEARS widespread occurrence of human leptospirosis in the United States has been documented. Before that time, clinical interest and recognition this pathogenic spirochete had limited to sporadically reported cases Weil's syndrome. In 1951, Schaeffer first epidemic leptospiral outbreak country, same year sporadic anicteric were by Beeson associates, Coffey coworkers Lerner Lindsey. 1952, Gochenour associates identifiedLeptospira autumnalisas etiologic agent pretibial fever which was described 1943 Daniels Grennan. The latter authors recognized similarity their patients those Bowdoin Georgia 1942, antibodies toLept. pomonawere later demonstrated serums from some Bowdoin's patients.
