The impact of nandrolone decanoate and growth hormone on biosynthesis of steroids in rats.

摘要: Growth hormone (GH) and anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) are commonly used in sports communities. Several studies have suggested an association between GH AAS. We investigated the impact of rats treated with nandrolone decanoate (ND). Male Wistar received ND (15 mg/kg) every third day during three weeks were subsequently recombinant human (1.0I U/kg) for ten consecutive days. Plasma samples collected peripheral organs (i.e. heart, liver, testis thymus) dissected weighed. Concentration thirteen endogenous was measured rat plasma using high specificity LC-MS/MS methods. Seven detected quantified, concentrations estrone, testosterone, androstenedione significantly different among groups, while pregnenolone, DHEA, 17-hydroxyprogesterone corticosterone not altered. Administration rhGH alone altered steroid distribution, results demonstrated increased estrone as well decreased testosterone ND-treated rats. to ND-pretreated did reverse alteration distribution induced by ND. weight thymus, addition this reduction.
