摘要: Abstract The prenatal developmental toxicity of bitumen fume was tested by nose-only inhalation in the rat. fumes for exposure were collected from headspace a storage tank filled with corresponding composition to an anticipated worst-case occupational exposure. these compared actual paving site ensure its representativeness workplace exposures. In dose-range-finding study male and female rats exposed 0, 103, 480 or 1043 mg/m3 (as total organic mass), 6 h/day during 20 days post conception (p.c.). Dose-related effects on body weight lungs observed mid- high-dose groups. main study, dams 52, 151 482 mg/m3 fume, 19 p.c. maternal NOAEL 52 mg/m³. group treatment-related (gain), food consumption, lung weights, histopathological changes larynx observed. mid-dose only found. 151 mg/m³ based reduced fetal (482 mg/m³). However, are most likely consequence toxicity, particular reduction gain 26 % as control. Nose-only concentrations up 482 mg/m³ 1–19 did not induce any significant anomalies.
