摘要: Objective To assess the utility, technical factors, and complications associated with use of Onyx (Micro Therapeutics, Inc., Irvine, CA) for preoperative embolization cranial spinal tumors. Methods We reviewed a prospectively accumulated database patients in whom was used tumors over 19-month period. The patients' demographic characteristics, tumor type location, embolic agents used, arteries catheterized, were assessed. Specific attention focused on factors that differed from other commonly materials. Results Ten (four female six male; age range, 11-60 yr) underwent before or resection. Tumors included three juvenile nasal angiofibromas, two meningiomas, hemangioblastomas, metastases (renal cell thyroid), one giant tumor. performed 43 vessels 11 treatment sessions. There no related to procedures. Deep penetration agent into documented through imaging surgical pathological specimens. Conclusion Preoperative can be safely. advantages deep lesions producing extensive infarction, ability embolize portions fewer arterial catheterizations, safety catheter withdrawal despite often substantial reflux along catheter.
