Intelligent simulation: Integration of SIMIO and MATLAB to deploy decision support systems to simulation environment

摘要: Abstract Discrete-event simulation is a decision support tool which enables practitioners to model and analyze their own system behavior. Although packages are capable of mimicking most tasks in real-world system, there some decision-making activities, beyond the reach packages. The Application Programmers Interface (API) SIMIO provides wide range opportunities for researchers develop logic apply it during run. This paper illustrates how deploy MATLAB, as computational coupled with SIMIO, package by using new user-defined step instance named “CallMATLAB”. A manufacturing case study introduced where CallMATLAB used create an Iterative Optimization-based Simulation (IOS) model. created evaluate performance different optimizers. benefits this hybridization other industries, including healthcare systems, supply chain management project problems discussed.
