摘要: Abstract This paper emphasizes the different requirements for calibration and validation of lumped distributed models. On basis a theoretically founded modelling protocol, steps in hydrological are illustrated through case study based on MIKE SHE code 440 km 2 Karup catchment Denmark. The importance rigorous purposeful parameterisation is emphasized order to get as few “free” parameters possible which assessments required. Calibration using split-sample procedure were carried out discharge piezometric heads at seven selected observation wells. validated model was then used two further tests. Firstly, simulations compared with observations from three additional sites four wells located within catchment. internal showed significantly poorer results calibration/validation sites. Secondly, 500 m grid generate models 1000 m, 2000 m 4000 m grids interpolation parameters. multi-scale suggested that maximum size 1000 m should be ground-water heads, while deteriorated coarser grids.
