Mathematical Modeling of the Inception and Development of Cavitation in Turbulent Liquid Flow in a Symmetric Channel

摘要: The process of cavitation inception and development in turbulent flow a hydrocarbon fuel square channel under the action large constant pressure difference has been studied. It is established that this system substantially unsteady and, despite fact possesses both vertical horizontal symmetry, structure cavitating significantly asymmetric. This circumstance plays an important role analysis fundamental problem wide range practical problems. mathematical modeling flows was based on Navier–Stokes equations supplemented by equation state barotropic medium. Simulations were performed using modified algorithm open-source computational fluid dynamics toolbox OpenFOAM. Comparison results test simulations to available experimental data showed appropriateness efficiency proposed algorithm.
