摘要: Abstract The present study examined the processes giving rise to moral hypocrisy, a phenomenon in which individuals judge their own transgressions be less morally objectionable than same enacted by others. Two alternative models of source hypocrisy were compared determine whether results from automatic or volitional biases. Findings demonstrated not only that participants viewed as significantly more “fair” others, but also this bias was eliminated under conditions cognitive constraint. These findings support view stems volitionally-guided justifications, and thereby suggest at basic level, humans possess negative response violations fairness norms themselves
