摘要: OBJECTIVE--To study different nutrients and food additives as risk factors for insulin dependent diabetes mellitus in childhood. DESIGN--Prospective case-control study. Parents of the children being studied were asked to fill a questionnaire regarding children9s frequency consumption various foods. with about period before onset disease. SETTING--Population based throughout Sweden. SUBJECTS--339 Children aged 0-14 who had recently developed 528 control matched age, sex, county residence traced through official Swedish population register. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES--Foods classified according their content protein, fat, carbohydrates, monosaccharides or disaccharides, nitrosamines, nitrates nitrites, vitamin C, fibres. The intake was categorised high, medium, low relative developing estimated three frequencies calculated odds ratios. RESULTS--Significant linear trends dose response ratios by shown solid foods containing high amounts protein (odds ratio 1.0; medium 2.3; 5.5), nitrosamines (1.0; 1.7; 2.6) significant but non-linear found carbohydrates 1.3; 4.4) nitrites 0.8; 2.4). not affected when results standardised possible confounders. No increases CONCLUSION--Nutrients such carbohydrate, nitrosamine compounds may influence childhood indicate causal relation.
