摘要: The research presented here examines the use of vocational education and food beverage experience in development a hotel manager’s career. To achieve this aim, paper begins by introducing concept career development. This is followed an outline current debate surrounding shifting emphasis from craft to managerial skills training. Next, range findings study paths managers UK presented. These include role development, function as recognised track general management. indicates prevalence starting point for managers’ careers, illustrates that, despite calls industry increased management training, traditional still important hospitality industry. implications these are discussed.
