摘要: Jet substructure observables, designed to identify specific features within jets, play an essential role at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), both for searching signals beyond Standard Model and testing QCD in extreme phase space regions. In this paper, we systematically study structure of infrared collinear safe defining a generalization energy correlation functions probe n-particle correlations jet. These generalized correlators provide flexible basis constructing new observables optimized purposes. Focusing on three major targets jet community — boosted top tagging, W/Z/H quark/gluon discrimination use power-counting techniques series powerful discriminants: M i , N U . The is groomed providing novel example with improved power after removal soft radiation. i behave parametrically like N -subjettiness ratio but are defined without respect subjet axes, exhibiting behavior unresolved limit. Finally, improves by using higher-point simultaneously multiple emissions Taken together, these broaden scope studies LHC.
