摘要: Abstract The Diels–Alder cycloaddition of maleic anhydride to multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) was performed in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) (190 °C, 24 h) and 2-chorotoluene (150 °C, 48 h). functionalized MWCNT were characterized by thermogravimetry, elemental analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, potentiometric titration allowing a clear perception the solvent involvement on functionalization reaction. DMSO presented acidity arising mostly from reaction with solvent. modified 2-chlorotoluene did not evidence chemical transformations that could be assigned alone. anthracene, used as model compound for surface, confirmed fast DMSO. Hydrolysis catalyzed presence, but cyclic structure restored upon heating this at 185 °C. work also CNT identified best reaction, 190 °C.
