摘要: 573 elderly patients admitted to the general medical and geriatric beds of a teaching hospital in January, 1983, were receiving an average 2.14 drugs on admission, 5.48 during inpatient stay, 3.47 discharge. Contraindicated or adversely interacting identified 200 (3.2%) 6160 prescriptions. 136 (23.7%) affected. 7 received which they had adverse reactions. There further 60 contraindicated 133 drugs. 117 prescriptions potentially hazardous another 27 interactions may have led suboptimal treatment. 131 (65.6%) undesirable deemed avoidable 36 (18%) probably so. The frequency errors was higher admission medication (5.3%) than (2.9%). importance, origin, prevention prescribing drug-induced morbidity are discussed.
