摘要: Studies were performed in order to determine optimal methods for isolating mycobacteria from blood. The combined use of a lysis-centrifugation (Isolator) system and radiometric-detection (Bactec) was compared the either unconcentrated blood or centrifuged pellet conjunction with Bactec mycobacterial system. Results showed that cultures greater than 10 colony forming units (CFU) per ml blood, as sensitive Isolator concentrate. For lower counts (< CFU/ml), however, concentrate consistently better Since over half our positive had low counts, inoculated into culture vial onto Middlebrook agar slants is recommended vial.
