摘要: The cruciferous weed Lepidium latifolium, perennial pepper-grass, is a relatively recent immigrant with disjunct distribution in North America. Although first reported the 1930s Quebec and 1940s Alberta, L. latifolium only started to attract attention as an invasive when it began spread rapidly western parts of its US range 1980s, reaching British Columbia 1990s. coastal wetlands, inland waterways, irrigation ditches, rangeland, hay meadows waste areas, tolerates saline/alkaline environments. Prolific seed production, rapid substantial vegetative growth, creeping rhizomes high storage capacity, potential for bud production at each node, deep rhizome penetration have contributed widespread establishment latifolium.
