摘要: Swath MR1 data from the remnant Colville and active Kermadec arc margins, south of 33°30′ S (SW Pacific), record structural morphology evolution rifted, now separate portions, proto-Colville–Kermadec flanking actively widening southern Havre Trough back-arc basin associated with Pacific-Australian plate convergence. Both margins comprise opposing, asymmetric, partially basement exposed, segmented ridges. Differences in between two ridges are, however, observed. The single, near linear, border fault system, relief ∼1000 m, along western edge margin is interpreted to be exposed escarpment a major, west-dipping, detachment fault. In contrast, major zig-zag systems eastern Ridge, bounding back-tilted ridge flank terrace, are as antithetic faults region. This contrast coincides with, respectively, lesser greater degrees both tectonism channel-canyon erosion, on margins. These differences reflect progressive trenchward collapse rift uplift incisive erosion foot-wall contrasting non-collapse relatively hanging-wall. provide further constraints early particular, basins general.
