摘要: We studied the effects of zenarestat, an aldose reductase inhibitor (ARI), on peripheral neuropathy in Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats, animal model type 2 diabetes. ZDF rats and their lean counterparts were fed a sucrose-containing diet, zenarestat was given orally once day for 8 weeks. Motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV), F-wave minimal latency (FML), sorbitol concentrations sciatic measured. In control remarkable accumulation sorbitol, delay FML, slowing MNCV observed compared with rats. At dose 3.2 mg/kg, had no significant effect FML MNCV, although partially inhibited On other hand, 32 mg/kg treatment improved these dysfunctions along reduction almost to level These data showed that diabetes model, providing evidence therapeutic potential neuropathy.
