摘要: Abstract Contamination of twenty endoscopes used in patients with AIDS was assessed. The suction-biopsy, air, and water channels the insertion tube were sampled after use, washing detergent, disinfection for 2 min 2% alkaline glutaraldehyde. polymerase chain reaction Southern blotting, cell cultures, antigen immunoassay to detect human immunodefiency virus (HIV). Washing alone removed detectable organisms from 66 68 sites, Neisseria spp recovered two air but not disinfection. achieved a mean reduction 4·93 (95% confidence interval 3·69-6·17) colony forming units per ml.
