Parent reported treatment priorities for children with autism spectrum disorders

摘要: We designed an Internet survey to identify the educational priorities that parents have for their children with autism spectrum disorders and examine relation between these children's level of adaptive behavior functioning. The listed 54 skills/behaviors (e.g., toileting, expressing wants needs, tantrums) representing 10 domains self-care, communication, problem behavior). Parents rated child's current ability/performance respect each skill/behavior indicated extent which training/treatment was a priority. Ninety surveys were completed during 8-month data collection period. top treatment represented from six different domains. Results supported view parent tended be higher in areas where greatest deficits or show emerging skills. results suggest there may value targeting assessment emergent skills planning.
