摘要: Careful examination of the child’s skin is an essential component abuse evaluation. Injuries to are common findings in maltreated children and may include (a) contusions (bruises), abrasions, lacerations; (b) burns from scalding, direct contact with flame or hot objects, electricity; (c) frostbite (O’Neill, Meacham, Griffin, & Sawyers, 1973); (d) scars resulting these injuries (Richardson, 1994). In one study examining 616 suspected having been abused, at least 80% 775 primary involved skin, including bruises/ecchymoses/hematomas (56%); erythema/marks (9%); (8%); abrasions/scratches (7%) (Johnson Showers, 1985).
