摘要: Pediatric ulcerative colitis (UC) has a more extensive and progressive clinical course than adult UC. Therefore, aggressive initial therapies frequent surgical treatments are needed. The therapeutic goal is to gain laboratory control of the disease with minimal adverse effects while permitting patient function as normally possible. Approximately 5–10 % patients UC require acute intervention because fulminant refractory medical therapy. Mucosal proctocolectomy ileal J-pouch anal anastomosis currently recommended standard curative procedure for in both children adults worldwide. This review will focus on current issues regarding indications pediatric UC, technical details procedures results most recent published series take appropriate next step improve outcomes patients’ quality life.
