摘要: Ulcerative colitis is a chronic idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by continuous mucosal inflammation that starts in the rectum and extends proximally. Typical presenting symptoms include bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, urgency, tenesmus. In some cases, extraintestinal manifestations may be present as well. right clinical setting, diagnosis of ulcerative based primarily on endoscopy, which typically reveals evidence colonic inflammation, with confirmatory biopsy specimens having signs colitis. The goals therapy are to induce maintain remission, decrease risk complications, improve quality life. Treatment determined basis severity classically step-up approach. 5-Aminosalycilates mainstay treatment for mild moderate disease. Patients failed 5-aminosalycilate or who more severe treated corticosteroids followed transition steroid-sparing agent thiopurine, anti-tumor necrosis factor agent, adhesion molecule inhibitor. Despite medical therapies, approximately 15% patients still require proctocolectomy. addition, given potential risks complications from itself medications used treat disease, primary care physicians play key role optimizing preventive reduce complications.
