摘要: Background: An increased frequency of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHP) has been reported in patients with treated breast cancer (BC). PHP found about 7% BC after surgery and radio-, chemio- or hormonal therapy. Aim: To evaluate the untreated patients. Subjects methods: We evaluated 186 women 233 thyroid (TC, no.=122) benign diseases (BTD, no.=111). In all patients, serum calcium, albumin, PTH, 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25-OH vitD) were measured before any treatment. Results: Serum calcium concentrations significantly higher than TC BTD groups (median values 9.5 mg/dl, 9.3 mg/dl respectively) but, according to a logistic regression model, was not different between 3 when age taken into account. normal range, indicating that no case overt present. Five (1 BC, 2 TC, BDT groups) had close upper limit high PTH low 25-OH vitD, possible hypercalcemia masked by concomitant vitD deficiency. Conclusions: group, patient 1/186 (0.5%) presented deficiency, much lower observed These data suggest treatments may be responsible for previous studies.
