摘要: ‘Tragedy’ is one of those curiously elastic words reserved for life's saddest spheres and events, irrespective the forms in which they appear. Even though a vast body genre studies has emerged, however, only handful have drawn cross-historical comparisons between tragic forms. This essay demonstrates how Walter Benjamin’s reflections on Attic tragedy may contribute to such line thought, focusing both tragedies’ subversive potential social-historical constellations first emerged. In part, conception tragedies explored by his The Origin German Tragic Drama theoretical roots earlier work. According Benjamin, offered messianic, dialectical critique constellation appeared. second part article discusses relevance these analysis contemporary forms, thereby identifying heirs outside strict boundaries ‘drama’.
