摘要: Abstract To clarify whether or not inhaling fragnance of lavender, rosemary citronella affects physiological conditions, responses the autonomic nervous system were evaluated by measuring R-wave intervals on an electrocardiogram, blood pressure, flow in fingertip and galvanic skin conductance. Heart rate variability was also examined using spectral analysis. Lavender most effective terms eliciting calmness relaxation. When inhaled for 10 minutes, lavender produced increase decrease conductance systolic indicating a reduction sympathetic nerve activity followed decreased pressure. Rosemary, which is perceived as having refreshing effect, increased pressure immediately after inhalation, resulting from stimulating activity. Citronella R-R interval electrocardiogram The high frequency component analysis, reflects only parasympathetic activity, significantly following inhalation citronella. ratio low frequency/high components, balance, that had become predominant. These results suggested fragnances cause feelings relaxation, such produce relaxed condition increasing whilst depressing addition to mental psychological effects. In contrast, fragnances, rosemary, stimulate seems activate both para-sympathetic Appreciation varies widely among individuals, might be associated with its complex effects system.
