摘要: The spatial trend of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) along Xiaoqing River and its tributaries was studied to characterize isomer profiles quantify emissions from fluoropolymer (FP) manufacturers in China. Substantially elevated Sigma PFAS concentrations downstream tributary 4 demonstrated that the this FP manufacturer dominated total riverine discharges. Isomer perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) water displayed a stepwise increase percentage branched PFOA 3 (14.0%) (22.7%) reflecting importance sources. Strong positive correlations between isomers indicated were conserved emission sources final reservoir. Riverine discharges (23-67 t/yr) agreement with theoretical calculations production (68 whereas large discrepancies two methodologies observed for perfluorobutanoic perfluoropentanoic acid. Collectively, study fills critical knowledge gaps understanding ongoing global PFASs. (C) 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
