摘要: Lignin modification has been a breeding target for the improvements of forage digestibility and energy yields in bioenergy crops, but decreased lignin levels are often accompanied by reduced lodging resistance. The rice mutant gold hull internode2 (gh2) identified to be deficient. GH2 mapped short arm chromosome 2 encodes cinnamyl-alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD). We developed long-culm variety, ‘Leaf Star’, with superior resistance gh phenotype similar one its parents, ‘Chugoku 117’. loci Leaf Star Chugoku 117 were localized same region as gh2 mutant. had culms low concentrations due natural mutation OsCAD2 that was not present 117. However, this variety high culm strength strong, thick culms. Additionally, layer cortical fiber tissue well-developed secondary cell walls. Our results suggest can improved production combining resistance, which obtained introducing stiff traits, concentrations, using variety.
