摘要: Query (Q) fever was virtually unknown in Denmark 2005, when, after the introduction of new sensitive diagnostic methods for Coxiella burnetii, an increasing number positive cattle created concern among people with frequent exposure. This led to a dramatic rise examinations Q humans following 2 years. The aim our study assess indication testing and symptoms individuals serological signs infection C. burnetii. We performed case-review seropositives all tested 2006-07 Denmark. Seropositive cases were categorized acute infection: 4-fold increase immunoglobulin G (IgG) phase II or concomitant IgM ≥ 1 : 256 IgG 1024; previous 1024. A borderline result defined as: = 512. Physicians completed questionnaire retrospectively. Of 1613 tested, 177 (11%) seropositive [37 (2%) infection, 140 (9%) infection], 180 had result. Among 127 responders, 31% due compatible possible exposure 64% asymptomatic relevant only; males, 43% farmers, 39% veterinarians, 84% been exposed cattle. most frequently reported asthenia (25%), myalgia (21%), (17%) headache (13%). About two-thirds infections, because occupational One-third consistent fever, majority being mild. Our provided important evidence that increased requests arose from heightened public awareness disease, not outbreak clinical disease. Nonetheless, should be considered endemic
