摘要: The larvae of the wax moth Galleria mellonella and human oral keratinocytes were used to investigate protective activity candidate probiotics Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LHR), reuteri (LR), Streptococcus salivarius K-12 (SS) against periodontal pathogens Fusobacterium nucleatum (FN), Porphyromonas gingivalis (PG), Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (AA). Probiotics delivered (i) concomitantly with pathogen in same larval pro-leg; (ii) different pro-legs, (iii) before inoculation pro-legs. as viable cells, cell lysates or supernatants pathogen. killed at least 50% within 24 h although PG FN significantly more virulent than AA order > also lethal mammalian cells. probiotics, however, not doses up 107 cells/larvae. Wax worm survival rates increased 60% for some probiotic/pathogen combinations compared control inoculated only. SS was most effective probiotic challenge LHR least, simultaneous administration pre-treatment, LR generally all (up survival). For P. gingivalis, SS, A. LR. Administering decreased toxic effects pathogens. In summary, variably G. had measurable effects, which greatest when administrated simultaneously pathogens, suggesting based on bacterial interaction, providing a basis mechanistic studies.
