Numerical Study of Bubble Breakup in Fractal Tree-Shaped Microchannels.

摘要: Hydrodynamic behaviors of bubble stream flow in fractal tree-shaped microchannels is investigated numerically based on a two-dimensional volume fluid (VOF) method. Bubble breakup examined each level bifurcation and the transition regimes discussed particular. The pressure variations at center different levels bifurcations are analyzed an effort to gain further insight into underlying mechanism affected by multi-levels microchannel. results indicate that due structure microchannel, both lengths bubbles local capillary numbers decrease along microchannel under constant inlet number. Hence from obstructed obstructed-tunnel combined coalescence observed when flowing higher bifurcations. Compared with bifurcations, show stronger periodicity lower Perturbations grow magnify direction field becomes more chaotic Besides, feedback unequal downstream upstream affects enhances asymmetrical behaviors.
